Carrie Christen, Special Education Paraprofessional

Penny Hansen, Special Education Paraprofessional

Penny Hansen has been a Glendale- River Hills School District employee since 2000.  She is a resident of Glendale and her 3 children attend school at Glen Hills and Nicolet.  When she is not working Penny enjoys walking her black lab Colby, downhill skiing, traveling, spending time at the gym and outdoors.  Penny also has a passion for painting and displays her artwork throughout the area at shows.  

Vicki McLean, Special Education Teacher

Mrs. McLean has been teaching in the field of special education for 13 years.  In 1996, she received a BS in Elementary Education from UW – Oshkosh.  She was certified in the areas of Specific Learning/Emotional Behavioral Disability.  In 1999, a MS in Exceptional Education and certification in Cognitive Behavior Disability was obtained from UW - Milwaukee.  Through her strong desire to provide the best instruction for students, she became certified as a Reading Teacher from Cardinal Stritch University in 2002.

Since 2004, Mrs. McLean had the opportunity to join the staff and students at Parkway Elementary School.  She works with the primary students and finds it both rewarding and challenging to teach the children to read, write, and learn life skills.  

Janine Park, Speech Language Pathologist

Mrs. Janine Park has been teaching as a speech language pathologist in the schools since 1998. Her education background includes a bachelor of science degree in audiology and speech sciences from Purdue University, a Master of Education in Communicative disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and certification in administration and pupil services from Marian College.  Prior to teaching, Mrs. Park worked as a speech language pathologist in several rehabilitation facilities.   In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children.

Sharon Poeske, Early Chidhood Teacher

Julie Sperry, Physical Therapist

Julie Sperry has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.  She has a Masters of Physical Therapy from Concordia University Wisconsin.  She has been an itinerant school-based physical therapist since 1998.

Mrs. Sperry manages a Special Olympics team and is always looking for athletes and volunteers.  Her team competes in bowling (without bumpers!), snowshoeing, basketball team and skills, and athletics.   

Paul Trotter, Speech and Language Pathologist

Mr.Trotter received his Bachelor of Science from the Marquette University College of Speech in 1976. He received his Master of Science in Communicative Disorders from Marquette University in 1978. Mr. Trotter received his Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech – Language Pathology from the American Speech and Hearing Association in 1981.  He is a current member of the American Speech and Hearing Asssociation. Mr. Trotter has been a Speech and Language Pathologist in the Glendale – River Hills School District since 1978. He enjoys gardening, photography, music  and spending time with his family.  

Meghan Watry, Occupational Therapist

Meghan Watry received her Bachelor Degree in psychology at Wisconsin Lutheran College in December 2003. She received her Master's of Occupational Therapy in June of 2007. She started working at Parkway Elementary as a CESA#1 therapist in the 2007-2008 school year. As of  the 2009-2010 school year, Meghan is now a district employee and is working with early childhood and Parkway students. Before becoming an OT, Meghan worked with children with autism doing intensive in-home therapy programming. She enjoys spending time with her family, quilting, and reading.

Debbie Weber, Special Education Teacher

Mrs. Deborah Weber has been teaching in the area of special education since August of 1999.  She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in special education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  She began teaching in the Glendale-River Hills School District in August of 2006.

Gayle Grutzmacher-Bartl, Special Education Teacher

Gayle Bartl received her Bachelor's Degree in Cognitive Disabilities in 1998 from Cardinal Stritch University. Prior to joining the staff at Glen Hills she taught in the Milwaukee Public School System for 11 years. She earned her Master's Degree in Urban Education in 2007 from Marian College.

Gayle Bartl lives in Port Washington with her husband and two sons.

Lana Harrington, Speech and Language Pathologist

Lana Harrington is delighted to be teaching in the Glendale-River Hills School District.  Harrington worked for the school district for ten years, from 1993 until 2003, then followed her students to Nicolet High School and spent four years teaching there prior to returning to Glen Hills Middle School in 2007.  Harrington obtained her Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees in Speech and Language Pathology from UW-Milwaukee. She is an active member of ASHA, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, www.asha.org, and she holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech and Language Pathology.  Harrington works with regular and special education students from grades four through eight with a wide range of speech and language needs. She finds her work to be exciting and rewarding and she is pleased with the diverse population of the Glendale-River Hills School District.

Eryn Hatchell, Special Education Teacher

Eryn Hatchell earned her Bachelor’s degree from UW-Oshkosh in 2004. She is certified to teach cross-categorical special education grades PK-9 and elementary education grades 1-6.  She completed her Masters in Education degree at UW-Stout in 2009. Mrs. Hatchell came to Glen Hills in 2008. Prior to that she taught 6th grade special education for 4 years.  When not teaching, Mrs. Hatchell enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She also enjoys spending time up north, traveling, and playing with her pug, Lucy.      

Mary Pham, Special Education Teacher

Ms. Mary Pham has a passion for teaching and learning!  Ms. Pham received her bachelor's of primary education with a focus on Mathematics and Social Studies from UW-Milwaukee.  In subsequent years, she received her master's of exceptional education (special education) and completed the program certification for teaching reading.  Before joining the Glen Hills community, Ms. Pham taught for seven years in the Milwaukee area. She is thrilled to be part of the Glen Hills family!
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, spending time with family, friends and her dog, Buckley.

Mary Picard, Special Education Teacher

Mary Picard is a special education teacher.  She has worked in a variety of capacities in the Glendale/River Hills School District since 1979.  She is married with two daughters.

Shannon Tuttle, Special Education Teacher

Ms. Shannon Tuttle received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2004 and is certified to teach students with Learning Disabilities, grades K-12.  She taught in Minneapolis before relocating to the Milwaukee area and joining Glen Hills Middle School in 2010.
