The student services mission is to promote academic, personal, and social/emotional development. We empower students to become responsible citizens and life-long learners so that they have the opportunity to reach their full potential. We promote a healthy self-concept, decision-making skills, career exploration, and academic achievement for students. We encourage personal, academic, and social/emotional growth by helping students build strong relationships with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel, as well as bridge communication and student support between home and school.
‘Equity’ can have a lot of different definitions, depending on the context but, at its core, the concept involves giving everyone in a situation the specific tools that they need to be successful. In the classroom, promoting equity is about educators choosing to embrace rather than shy away from the unique backgrounds, identities, and experiences that their individual students bring to the table.
