English, Math, Science, and Social Studies Committee Tasks:
- STANDARDS Identify and study concerns related to area standards implementation. Recommend needed revisions/changes for enhancing student learning to Area Coordinator Committee. Primary areas: Standards documents, WSAS (and other tests) curriculum matches, complex reasoning skills and other strategies that impact student achievement, study skills, and communication skills.
- TRANSITION ISSUES Identify/analyze policies and/or procedures which prevent a smooth transition between feeder schools and the high school. Recommend solutions to Area Coordinator Committee. Review/affirm placement procedures and processes, including placement tests (what tests and when will they be given, placement criteria, how and when results will be shared, the appeal process, and placement results. Review/analyze performance of feeder school students in high school classes.
- EVENT PLANNING (Optional) Plan inter-district activities that provide academic challenge to groups (mixed composition from each feeder district) of eighth grade students. Submit activity plans to Area Coordinators for prior approval.
Art, Gifted & Talented, Physical Education, Music, Guidance, World Language and Media &Technology Committee Tasks:
- STANDARDS Identify, analyze, and recommend instructional strategies/materials to facilitate student learning in all districts.
- TRANSITION ISSUES Identify/analyze policies and/or procedures which prevent a smooth transition between feeder schools and the high school. Recommend solutions to Area Coordinator Committee.
