What is the Foundation?
The Foundation was started about 25 years ago, through a generous donation to the Glendale River Hills School District. Since then, our mission is to raise funds and other resources to support the School District through programs and projects that enrich diverse, educational experiences and opportunities for students. We do this through exciting annual events like the Fun Run & Glow Walk and the Spring Fling, as well as solicit funds through private and corporate donations.
What’s the difference between the Foundation and PTO?
We’re both fundraising entities, but think of us like siblings.
The Foundation provides funds for such endeavors as the Parkway Playground (built brand-new in 2017), that is fully accessible to all scholars of all abilities; the Tribute Program, which enables community members to donate money to specific programs and educators in order to enhance scholars’ learning experiences; and the future Glen Hills Innovative Learning Lab.
The PTO is the powerhouse that works tirelessly throughout the year to provide fun-filled family events for our district, like the Fall Festival, Family Activity Night at Glen Hills, and more!
In 2022, the District, Foundation, and PTO together, raised enough funds to purchase a new wheelchair lift-equipped van accessible to all scholars!
